Frequently, we in the industry refer to viruses 'in the wild' meaning malware that's been found IRL. This particular XKCD comic shows a guy who essentially created a petri dish for malware havoc.

If you think about it, it shouldn't be that hard to do.  VMWare, VMs, somewhat isolated for safety reasons.
